The VideoJS player framework is an open source project. Brightcove is the main sponsor of the project, and they employ many of the core members and invest thousands of engineering hours every year in video.js and video.js plugins. This player supports DASH and HLS streaming protocols.
The Brightcove Player is built on video.js and used on thousands of video websites, ensuring video.js can handle the most professional use cases. Player documentation is available here http://docs.videojs.com/docs/guides/api.html.
Shaka is the open source MPEG DASH player created by Google. Since DASH can be difficult to implement, Google developed an open source Shaka Player to help programmers implement DASH technology with HTML5. Shaka Player is available on GitHub, and you can experiment with a demonstration.
THEOPlayer is built with adaptive bit rate streaming technology without requiring a plugin. The player distributes video in HTML5 via HLS and MPEG-DASH to all modern platforms and devices. The player is fully customizable and incorporates an extensive list of features for monetization. Click here for demonstrations.
Azure Media Player
Azure Media Player is a web video player built to play back media content from Microsoft Azure Media Services on a wide variety of browsers and devices. Azure Media Player utilizes industry standards, such as HTML5, Media Source Extensions (MSE), and Encrypted Media Extensions (EME) to provide an enriched adaptive streaming experience. When these standards are not available on a device or in a browser, Azure Media Player uses Flash and Silverlight as fallback technology.
Microsoft Azure Media Services allows for content to be served up with DASH, Smooth Streaming, and HLS streaming formats to play back content. Azure Media Player takes into account these various formats and automatically plays the best link based on the platform/browser capabilities.
